About Us - Grant Guidelines
Beaufort County Tennis Association Grant Guidelines
Grants awarded by the Beaufort County Tennis Association (BCTA) are administered fairly and in a manner that promises the most effective use of available funds. These guidelines describe procedures for soliciting and
reviewing grant applications and for making and announcing awards. They also specify the support and assistance applicants may receive from staff.
Requests for Applications through BCTA
General project and/or event funding is available for all of Beaufort County through an application process submitted to the local CTA Board. Any persons, clubs, facilities, and organizations, regardless of tax status, may apply for additional funding or equipment/hard goods that are used for support to local tennis related activities. This use may be for any group of players, including but not limited to, adults, juniors, adaptive players, and their programming. General support for events held within the county should be open to the public but board approval could be obtained for closed private club events should they deem it worthwhile for the sustainability of the tennis culture at that club.
Each grant will contain eligibility requirements, administrative instructions for applying, any necessary forms, a complete list of items to be submitted, application deadlines, an outline of any follow-up or reporting requirements, and a point of contact for additional information. To ensure the grant is considered, requirements must be met at the discretion of the board.
Prior to Grant Submission
Applicants may request assistance from BCTA staff regarding guidance, format, and content when applying locally. The applicant is responsible for the submission of the completed grant application.
Evaluation of Applications
Any application that does not contain all the required components is considered incomplete and will not be considered for funding. For example, if a grant requires a program summary, a budget, and a marketing plan, but the submitted grant application has no budget, the application will be considered incomplete.
Grant Review Process
The BCTA grants review committee, or the current board will evaluate the grant application for all required components. The review committee may approach the applicant for additional information or documentation. The review committee may also involve others in the review process. Any member of the committee with a conflict of interest will not be involved in the decision.
Applications will be evaluated uniformly, and all required criteria will be considered. Recommendations for funding will be based on the merit of an application and its comparative ranking to other applicants. All funding decisions are based on available funds. All applicants will be notified whether funding will be forthcoming.
Additional Requirements
An accountability report will be required of each grant recipient within 30 days of the end of the program or by December 1 of the calendar year. This report will outline how the money was spent to promote and grow tennis.
